Dr. Christopher B. Powe
President | Principal
Dr. Christopher Powe is the Owner/President of Global Training Institute, located in Canton, Miss. and part of the MS Bio-Medical Business Collaboratory. He has served as Chief Advanced Practice Officer at University of Mississippi Medical Center serving over 350 nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists and physician assistants. He has served as an Associate Professor at the UMMC School of Nursing in the Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program since 2004. Previous roles include the Lead Advanced Practice Provider in the Trauma & Surgical Intensive Care Unit at UMMC since 2003. Named Director of Advanced Practice Adult Hospitals, he lead over 200 Advanced Practice Providers into what is now one of the most innovative APP organizational structures in the country. He has vast experience in Critical Care and Emergency advanced practice roles. Named Mississippi's Advanced Practice Provider of the Year in 2011, he has served with over 23 years of trauma surgery and critical care and emergency services experience.
He proudly serves in the United States Air Force and the Mississippi National Guard (MSANG) with 12 years of combat experience. Currently, he is a Lieutenant Colonel in the MSANG and is an Iraq War Veteran following a tour in the country’s only Level 1 Combat Trauma & Emergency Treatment Facility. During that tour, LtCol recieved numerous awards including the USAF Meritorious Service Award with 1 Oak Leak Cluster for saving the lives of four special operations operaters following combat injuries. Dr. Powe has dedicated his career in improving education, training and safety for medical providers, armed forces and law enforcement officers.
Christopher completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Health Sciences, UMMC School of Graduate Studies, focusing on Blunt Trauma in the Morbidly Obese. He completed both graduate and undergraduate degrees at the UMMC School of Nursing. He is board certified as an acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP-BC), in Critical Care Flight Nursing (CFRN) and Critical Care Nursing.(CCRN). He also also holds certifications as in instructor in ACLS, TNCC, TCC, TECC, LEFR and several specialties in military medicine.

Dr. David Powe

Dr. David Powe most recently served as the Chief Administrative Officer at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC), the only public academic health science center in the state. UMMC has a budget of $1.4 billion, with an annual economic impact of $2.1 billion, and is the second largest employer in Mississippi with over 9,200 employees.
In the capacity of Chief Administrative Officer, he was responsible for overall operations including, but not limited to: facilities, transportation, security, logistical services, environmental health and safety, government relations, emergency preparedness, economic impact and business development initiatives. He also previously served as the Associate Vice Chancellor for Administrative Affairs and was responsible for areas such as: human resources, information systems, police, parking, building space and construction program management. During his tenure he also served on a wide range of committees, contributing to decision making and oversight on topics ranging from compliance to accreditation to master planning.
Prior to his service at UMMC, he served as Superintendent of Education in McComb, MS, President of Mississippi Delta Community College in Moorhead, MS, and Director of NASA’s Environmental Science Directorate. In 2000, he was selected by NASA to receive its highest award, the Outstanding Leadership Medal. He was chosen by NASA to participate in the prestigious Harvard University’s Senior Executive Fellows Program where he became a Harvard Fellow.
Dr. Powe graduated with his doctorate in education administration from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1984, a master’s degree in social science in 1976, a bachelor’s degree in social work and psychology in 1969 and a special certificate in corrections, all from Mississippi State University.
He has served in leadership positions in local civic, chamber and development organizations, as well as many active roles in statewide and national education and economic efforts. Additionally, he has served on numerous community boards in the following organizations: Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership, Mississippi Boys and Girls Club, YMCA of Mississippi, Downtown Jackson Partners, University Club, Central Mississippi Growth Foundation, ChamberPlus, and the Jackson Chamber of Commerce (board member and president in 2011).

Advantage Pharmacy Services develops innovative solutions for institutions utilizing technology to provide more efficient pharmacy distribution and reduce waste associated with unused medications. Transcript Pharmacy is a specialty pharmacy that provides medication therapy and pharmacist services to individuals with chronic conditions. Todd has served on the Mississippi Medicaid Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, and initiated several cooperatives and organizations including the Transplant Pharmacy Coalition, Specialty Pharmacies of America, and Diabetes Supply, Inc.
Todd also serves as Chief Executive Officer for Mississippi's only privately-held telehealth compnay. TelehealthONE is a healthcare company offering patient consultations via a video connection.
